Qualified
I hold the CIOL Level 7 Diploma in Translation with a distinction in the technology paper and a merit in the science paper.
The CIOL has awarded me Chartered Linguist status, recognising my qualification and experience as a translator: my translation diploma, degree in business and French, nine years of professional experience and ongoing CPD programme.
I am also a member of the Société française des traducteurs (SFT) in France.
My French studies were crucial to my education through to degree level, including a six-month study placement at the ESC Dijon grande école and a six-month work placement at Automobiles Peugeot, Paris. Back in the UK, I continued this attachment to French when I embarked on my 12-year sales and marketing career at Peugeot/Citroën.
My business and translation experience as well as translation study have given me the techniques and skills to create translations that speak in a clear voice to their English-speaking audience.
